I would like to caution parents that within the past few years, a growing number of substandard instruments have entered the market place. The inferior workmanship, materials, design and lack of quality control in these instruments have presented problems for our students.

Frequent repairs, as well as the unavailability of parts have caused students to become discouraged and have led to their lack of participation in instrumental music class and home practice.

Although, these instruments may appear similar to those of proven quality and may often be cheaper in their initial costs, the long-term expense and problems involves make them a poor investment. Most of the businesses offering these brands of instruments have little or no repair services available. Once you have purchased, you are on your own when problems occur.
