CHORUS

The focus for learning at the Middle School level includes:

* Demonstrate pitch and rhythmic accuracy
* Read and notate rhythmic and melodic patterns
* Identify and apply traditional symbols and terms
* Use appropriate music terminology
* Listen to, analyze and evaluate music
* Develop an understanding of music in relation to history, culture and other areas
* Show respect for the efforts of others

GRADING POLICY:

* 20% Participation
* 20% Homework
* 30% Tests and Quizzes
* 30% Attendance of Performances

MATERIALS FOR CLASS:

* 2 Packages of spiral bound notecards
* Pencil
* Black Sharpie marker
* Dry erase marker
* Box of Kleenex

DRESS FOR CONCERT:

Seventh and Eighth Grade Concert Chorus students have dresses for the girls and vests and ties for the boys.  The boys will need a pair of black pants and a white dress shirt.  This outfit will be worn for all concerts. 

The Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus students and the Sixth Grade Music Exploratory students will purchase a chorus shirt that should be worn with khaki pants or skirts.  The price of the shirt is $15.00.  You will need to fill out the order form and return it to Mrs. Kennedy along with a check made out to HRMS.
