HOLLY RIDGE CHORUS

The focus for learning at the Middle School level includes:

• Demonstrate pitch and rhythmic accuracy
• Read and notate rhythmic and melodic patterns
• Identify and apply traditional symbols and terms
• Use appropriate music terminology
• Listen to, analyze and evaluate music
• Develop an understanding of music in relation to history, culture and other areas
• Show respect for the efforts of others

GRADING POLICY:

• 20% Participation
• 20% Homework
• 30% Tests and Quizzes
• 30% Attendance of Performances

MATERIALS FOR CLASS:

• 3x 5 packages of spiral bound notecards
• Pencil
• Black Sharpie marker
• Dry erase marker
• Box of Kleenex

DRESS FOR CONCERT:

 Seventh and Eighth Grade Advanced Chorus students will be deciding on a concert dress change this year. This outfit will be worn for all concerts. The Beginning Chorus students and sixth graders will purchase a chorus shirt that should be worn with khaki pants or skirts.
