Meet Mrs. Kennedy
Hi, my name is Mrs. Kay Kennedy. I love teaching chorus at Holly Ridge Middle School. I have been teaching for the past 29 years. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten through 12th grade. My favorite age group of students to teach is Middle School students.
I received my Bachelor's Degree of Music Education from the University of Kentucky (GO 'CATS!!!) and Master's Degree of Music Education from George Peabody College for Teachers which is now a part of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
My husband and I have two children: Keith who is 17 and a Senior in high school, and Stacy who is 19 and a Sophomore at the University of Kentucky. Keith enjoys playing his trombone, reading, playing X-Box, and hanging out with friends. Stacy plays flute and piccolo and is majoring in music at UK. We also have a Miniature Schnauzer named Watson. He likes to take long walks with us.
Besides traveling along with the high school band as a uniform mom and chaperone, one of my favorite things to do is watch basketball games, especially Kentucky's games!! I also like to read mysteries. I usually take a book with me wherever I go.
I'm looking forward to another great year at Holly Ridge and my advice to all students is "DO YOUR BEST!!".
