HRMS Garden Club

History/Purpose-

The garden was established during the 2008/2009 school year and is located behind the gym. The garden consists of eight raised beds that are filled with fine turkey compost donated by “The Garden Hut” in Fuquay-Varina. The purpose of the garden club is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening and to serve our community.

Meetings/Requirements-

Garden Club will meet every Monday after school from 2:30-3:30pm.  Students must have transportation provided by 3:30pm. Additional weekly meetings within each committee may be scheduled as decided. Each committee will be assigned two beds to maintain. Some of the tasks will include planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.

McTeacher Night-

McTeacher Night at our local Holly Springs McDonald’s will be Octobler 5, 2009!

McDonald’s donates a percentage of all drive-thru and dine-in sales from 5-8pm to HRMS!

The donation goes directly to the Giving Garden.  All produce harvested is then shared and donations are collected.  Those gifts are given to local charities to help our community!
