Text Box: “Building the Bridge” Helping Your Child Ease into Middle School Michael McPherson Assistant Principal- 6th Grade Dear 6th Grade Parents, On behalf of Mr. Proulx, teachers, counselors, and support staff, welcome to the learning community at Holly Ridge Middle School. We have been working hard to “build the bridge” to help your child and family transition into middle school. Some of you may be veterans but many are new to the middle school experience. Middle school is a wonderful new experience, but it is full of anxiety and fears. As adults we often forget how overwhelming even the simple things can be to a young adolescent. Our goal is to make this experience positive and rewarding in all aspects of your child’s development. We look forward to the awesome opportunity of educating your child and being the bridge that takes your child from elementary to middle school. My office is located within the 6th grade wing and my door is always open to address your student’s needs.
