Wood Shop  & Computer Lab

General Procedures & Rules

Starting the Class:

1.  No book bags, books, coats, purses, or other personal items at your workstation – place these items in the designated area only!

2.     Get your journal from the Student Journal storage area (your wood shop locker).

3.     Sit quietly at your workstation and log on to your computer or follow the directions on the blackboard.  Always read all information posted on the blackboard.

During Class:

1.     Work quietly with your partner. Only the person sitting next to you should be able to hear you!

2.     If you need help, raise your hand and be recognized.  Wait patiently and continue to work as best as you can until the teacher is able to assist you.

3.     Do not leave your workstation or speak-out without permission from your teacher.  Raise your hand to be recognized.

4.     “OBSERVE” all rules posted on the walls!

End of Class:

1.     Clean up your workstation.  Close and neatly stack all books and manuals.  Remove and dispose of any paper, trash, or scrap pieces. Do not be a “PIG”. The computer lab and wood shop is a “Community” which you share with other individuals.  No one else wants to pick up after you.

2.     Log-off of your workstation.  Return the screen to the Novel log-on window!

3.     Store your Student Journal and all other materials.  “Returning your Student Journals to their proper storage area and cleaning up after yourself is a big part of your classroom participation grade.”  Any day you fail to do so results in a loss of points from your total classroom participation grade.

4.     Stand quietly at your workstation until your “teacher” releases you (there is no bell)!

I understand that Student Journals are graded every Friday and that it is my responsibility to keep my Journal current and complete.

I have read and understand the Wood Shop  & Classroom General Procedures & Rules.

I agree to the follow additional Classroom “Safety” Rules:

Ø    I accept responsibility for my behavior and I understand there are severe consequences (including Personal injury) for failing to follow the “Wood Shop  & Classroom General Procedures & Rules”!

Ø    I understand that inappropriate behavior can and does result in personal injury to myself and other individuals around me!

Ø    I understand that it is my responsibility to “Remain On Task” even when I do not have use of a computer in the computer lab.

Ø    I understand that I must keep my work current.  In lieu of tests, I am evaluated on my Reflections, Journal Entries (Current Events and Time Lines), and answers to questions at the end of the chapters that will be assigned on a weekly basis.

Ø    While my computer lab partner(s) is working on the computer, I “WILL” stay on task by writing reflections, answering questions, and maintaining my journal (current events & time lines).

Ø    I understand there is “No Reasonable Excuse” for incomplete work.  I always have the option to checkout a textbook, or complete other unfinished work at home.  Accessing a “specific” computer module is not required to keep my written work current!

Ø    I understand all written assignments are to be “My Own Original Work” even though I am part of a team.  All answers to current event and time line questions must be “TWO COMPLETE SENTENCES”!  Time Lines require FOUR (4) or more events, period!
